Isover Protect BSK is the specified inorganic adhesive used at wall, floor and ceiling penetration details in the Isover U Protect system. Supplied as a box of 20 × 310ml cartridges.
Where to use it
- Apply BSK between the building element and the first insulation slab on both sides of the penetration.
- Apply at approximately 0.66kg/m², equivalent to a layer around 2mm thick.
- BSK is not normally applied between ordinary slab-to-slab insulation joints; those joints are tightly butted and finished as specified.
Approximate consumption per metre of joint
- 30mm bonding width: 0.20kg/m
- 40mm: 0.26kg/m
- 50mm: 0.33kg/m
- 60mm: 0.40kg/m
- 70mm: 0.46kg/m
- 80mm: 0.53kg/m
- 90mm: 0.59kg/m
- 100mm: 0.66kg/m
For both faces of a penetration, calculate twice the perimeter around the duct and insulation thickness, then multiply by the applicable kg-per-metre rate. Allow for waste and site conditions.
Store and use within the temperature limits in the current Isover data. Installation must follow the current U Protect manual, ETA and project fire specification.
